I remember when the news of the Nanggala broke. And I remember my own heartbreak when they abandoned the search and announced the loss of all hands. As an active duty submariner I know firsthand the brotherhood that these men shared amongst their crew as well as the sacrifices they made for their families. I understand the fear, confusion, and sadness they must have felt in their last moments. These men gave their lives for their country, families, and the world. It doesn't matter what country you serve, if you serve on a submarine you have my respect and my friendship. I'm so sorry for their families sacrifice. These men will forever be my heroes. Now on eternal patrol.
