The New Class War

Progressives believe that working-class people that don't vote for them are 'voting against their economic interest." They can't understand how anyone that's not making six figures votes for a conservative.


I would argue that it's not just economics that plays a part in peoples voting intentions. Cultural and social issues are also a significant part. The reality is that progressives dominate big cities, higher education, academia, media, and tech. They are now the elite, and history has often shown that elites do not represent the working class.


The working-class voter does not look at the modern progressive and identify with them on a cultural or social level. that lack of connection has presented an opportunity to people like Boris Johnson and Donald Trump. It explains why more working-class are voting for conservative governments.
