In the late 1920s amidst a climate of concerns about edgy films Hollywood created a list of "don'ts and be carefuls"
The taboos were numerous and wide-ranging: "Sexual perversion," drug use, miscegenation, and profanity (including irreligious exclamations of "My God!") were completely off-limits.
There's no longer a list. But its spirit lives on in guidelines, expectations about what can be done when making a movie in Hollywood.
